curriculum vitae

Sarah, a child of the earth, was born in Zurich on alate summer night that saw southern Switzerland engulfed by high waters. Her childhood, golden in experiences and enriched by the expanding World Wide Web, kept her ever curious and restless. In many ways, Sarah’s work mirrors the attributes of the millennial generation. It‘s self-assured and tolerant, yet carries undertones of entitlement and narcissism. She often grapples with committing to a single medium, leading her works to constantly evolve. Their titles and constellations frequently reconfigure into new variations. While each piece can stand alone, they also possess the ability to merge, adapt, and find inclusion in new compositions. The pulsating rhythms of post-digital life drive Sarah’s creativity. She thrives as she navigates the rapidly changing currents of digital information. She delves into intriguing questions, such as,“What does the biome of my phone look like, givenits intimate contact with me and my bacteria?”. Seamlessly shifting between analog and digital media, Sarah has an extensive artistic repertoire ranging from analog and digital painting to sculpture and cutting-edge fabrication methods.

Her creative career began with an apprenticeship as a graphic designer from 2002 to 2006. After a decade of experience in advertising agencies and the event industry, she chose to shift her focus to the arts. She earned a bachelor's degree from 2013 to 2016 and a master's degree from 2019 to 2021 in Fine Arts at the Zurich University of Arts.
